Forsaken

All men have beloveds for their bosom,
All beasts have a mate to call their own;
Yet, I roam this earth unaccompanied
Unwanted, friendless and alone.

There’s no one to wipe my tears away,
No one to soothe my troubled sprite,
No one to hear the sound of my laughter.
No one to partake in the epochs of delight.

All around me there’s the fervor of fellowship,
But my heart’s frozen in the quagmire of loneliness.
Am I the victim of a curse? Or of my own folly?
What has caused this inexplicable distress?

Why does desolation haunt me so relentlessly?
I fail to comprehend this sore luck of mine;
Why am I trounced inexorably by
Destiny’s unhallowed designs?

God, my Frankenstein! Have mercy at last!
Give me a friend, from my isolation grant liberty,
I’ll be his forever; he’ll be the apple of my eye,
Propinquity is all I desire, don’t withhold it from me.

All men have beloveds for their bosom,
All beasts have a mate to call their own;
Yet, my life is barren as a churchyard
For I am segregated, discarded and alone…
